long ago relegated to the dusty corner of a forgotten
scrap heap, is a dead man’s tale. Its data tells the
secret of Project Z, a US government organization
hidden from the world under a lonely stretch of Texas
desert. The secret: The Space Shuttle Challenger
tragedy was no accident.
Roger Howard, a newly appointed UCLA professor, buys a pile of computer disk drives for his class in data recovery. And as his students begin to recover the data, one of them is murdered. Now the gods underground have one last simple chore to assure their secret remains safe -- remove an ordinary college teacher.
They never realized that Roger Howard would refuse to become their easy target.
